There are several variations to the poker game for all those interested though it is a game for the novice and professionals. It is quite interesting to be a professional at this game but it takes practice and patience especially to work out all the tell kinks in your game as it is of no use to giggle every time you have a good hand and vice versa.
There are several variations to the poker game and these include the 7-card stud and the 5-card stud. The former version involves 3 to five players, to begin betting two of the cards should be face down, and the third face up. The highest card gets the honors of betting first and the process is repeated until there are four cards face up.
The 5-card stud is a variation of this the only difference being that the initial betting sequence can be varied depending on the players wishes. The latter version can be done with one down four up, two down three up or one down three up one down.
Indian Poker is another interesting variation to the game and it involves 2 to 10 players. It is fun if not amusing to play regardless of how old and mature you think you are. The game starts with a fine that could be predetermined by the players and anyone that looks down at their card is automatically disqualified.
The cards in this case are held up for all to see then the player that is closest to the dealer on the left makes a bet then all the rest follows. Once all bets are in the players look at their cards, the one with the best takes the pot, and the cycle begins all over again though the bets are now taken from a different section and so on. This is done for one deck of cards though it is important to keep a straight face especially if your friend keeps on upping the ante while holding on to a two of clovers.
Chicago is another variation of the friendly poker game and is quite similar to the 7-stud game. The main difference is that the two highest hands win the game. This is great if you are the one that got the lucky ace but if you had the straight flush all along then the game is not fun anymore. Low ball involves 3-7 players in the game and is a five-card game.
This is an interesting one as it operates almost in contradiction to the other games. In this case, the lowest hand wins and this is the agenda of the game. It breaks the monotony of the game and keeps all the players entertained at the same time. To make the situation even more interesting the players could switch between the low ball and regular poker games especially if there are newbie around just to add to the fun and confusion that is poker.
